The 411 On a recent trip to Toronto, Sunday morning came around and after a fun night before where everyone had their share of drinks, the troops were rallied and we headed out to brunch. Isn’t that what brunch is for? To give you enough time to sleep in a little bit while not blowing your entire day and getting some tasty food in your stomach- as well as piecing together the night before.
Mitzi’s – A Toronto Memory
While on a recent trip to Toronto, we ended up visiting a friend who was living near High Park. I was winding down my Toronto trip so when we met up, I asked him what spot he recommended and he suggested his favourite childhood spot: a place that serves brunch 7 days a week and was hands down his favourite place to go in the city. The thing I love most about brunch is that there is always that one spot that everyone has that is a mini secret and that you have always loved. This place is in a residential neighbourhood and has been around for a while so it is tied to cherished childhood memories.
Drake Hotel – Another Toronto Gem
On a recent trip to Toronto we had a whirlwind of a tour of the city with some good friends. On the last day, we managed to somehow escape the Santa Parade and made it to a brunch spot. Keep in mind that Toronto brunch spots are not yet my specialty since I do not live there but I do have a good network of friends who are in the know when it comes to where to eat. They came up with the suggestion of the Drake Hotel brunch.
Mildred’s Kitchen Temple – Classy, Sexy, Cool
On a recent trip to Toronto, my friend brought me to this place that is apparently a hot spot for breakfast in the city. Every time I travel to Toronto and visit my friend, I always end up going to a quality spot for brunch so needless to say, I was excited. We had been drinking the night before at my friends fundraiser, and although we knocked back more than our fair share of drinks, we were still in decent enough shape to put some food into our system.
Insomnia – A place that will wake you up
On a recent trip to Toronto I visited my friends for the weekend for some much needed out-of-town partying and after a long weekend of partying there are 2 things needed: a nice 5k run by the water and Brunch. I love doing brunch in Toronto because it allows me to explore an undiscovered landscape of pancakes, and eggs. I pretty much know of most places in Montreal but know of very few in Toronto and the couple I stayed with always introduces me to a new spot every time I come, so brunch in Toronto is always a delicious experience.
Hot meal ideas on your plate
On a recent trip to Toronto, two friends took me to one of their favorite brunch places. Now, my last time in Toronto had me searching for a brunch place with no success so I was so happy that someone had done the searching for me this time.
At 1st glance
Fire on the east side is nestled in a nice little area of Toronto with some parking space in the neighborhood. You will notice it by it’s fair sized terrace and when you walk in, you are drawn to its large bar and a well-spaced seating setup, blue-green walls and its funky iron Jesus art statue on the wall. The place also doubles as a club on the evening and although you do have to use the club washrooms and walk a distance when you get there you will be shocked to find how clean and spacious
they are. (more…)
