So, 2013 is well behind us and it has been an interesting ride. We saw some places close down, some new ones open up and the big question still remains: where is the best place to have brunch? Brunch for many people is different; some people like the classic eggs and pancakes while others like funky creations that reinvent the wheel when it comes to brunch. Over the years, we have done 280 posts and well over 250 brunch spots in Montreal (we like to travel so we do some outside of Montreal, also) So here we go and keep in mind that if you think we missed a spot let us know by contacting us.

Welcome to Montreal Breakfast Review’s video series. This is where we take a closer look at some spots we feel have made an impact in the Montreal Brunch scene. We take you inside the kitchens of some of our favourite and most interesting places.

Our interview takes us to Le Chien Fumant back in the summer of 2010 we sat down with Le Chien Fumant and asked them a few questions and got to see the story behind all those great meal ideas. So take some time and check our video.

The 411

Hidden in the plateau is an absolute gem of a spot that has only been open since December of 2009. I heard of it recently from a friend who told me that this place has been turning heads with its great décor, unbelievable food, and friendly service. Brunches are served on Sundays and it’s not an ordinary brunch. In fact, they tend to change up the menu so that each time you go it is a different culinary experience. I ended up going on two separate occasions to get a fair sample of their offering. Their brunches get various inspirations such as Brazilian themes, dim sum, Spanish themes and classic to name a few.
