Hi Everyone

Long time no speak. This posting is an update on the upcoming changes to the site. We are currently moving to a better server, which hopes to make your browsing experience more enjoyable. So expect some bugs in the first 24 hours. We also have some small changes on the way. We currently celebrated our 100th review and are working our way to number 200, (well maybe in another 2 years).

We recently began a Facebook fan page so that people on Facebook can see our updates more easily. The Facebook group, and Twitter page still exist but the Facebook fan page offers more information and faster updates. We also have a Picasa page where you can see a better collection of pictures of some of our favourite meals. You will also find a little picture slideshow at the bottom of the leftmost sidebar (that’s the orange on bar a few inches to the right of this text).

We also brought back the peer rating section where you can give a rating of 0-5 stars on any review. Now, when I say “brought back” I mean it broke a while ago and only discovered it now; sorry about that. You can find the peer rating tool near the comment section at the bottom of any post, so if you don’t feel like commenting but do feel like giving the spot a rating you can do so. We also have some of the top peer rated posts on the bottom right hand sidebar (that’s the brown one at the extreme right of this text). Lastly, we have a surprise coming soon in a month or so. We won’t give away any hints now but follow our Facebook fan page and we will start dropping hints soon. As always if you have any questions or suggestions, feedback is always welcomed. Fabergé – New kid on the block

Faberge is a recent arrival on the brunch scene in Montreal. Situated on Fairmount street, it adds a solid brunch option to that part of the city. The surrounding areas of Fairmount offer a few brunch spots but the coverage in the area is rather spotty. People have begun talking about Faberge; there’s online chatter as well as word of mouth which is starting to spread. Considering it opened this summer, it’s nice to see some good buzz right off the bat. I usually wait a couple of weeks once a new place opens just so they can get their footing right and make all their little mistakes early on before they get into their groove.

Saloon – So where do I park my horse?

Saloon was a name I had heard of on two occasions which made me somewhat curious. So when my friend mentioned it again to me recently I figured maybe we could all go out and check it out. The village is not an area I go too often; it’s kind of in between the east end spots I go to and the west end ones. Any chance I get to do a review a brunch spot here is always welcoming since I know there is a good amount of restaurants and each time I have gone, I have always had a good meal. During the summer they close off Ste. Catherine street to cars in the village. Normally, I would complain whenever they close streets in the summer; I mean, half the streets are under construction and now, those I can use are now closed. However, I must admit, closing this part of Saint Catherine is a good idea since there is still ample parking in surrounding areas and some of it is still free. Also, walking down Ste.Catherine on a sunny day is such a nice experience which makes easing into one’s morning brunch that much better.

Boite Gourmande – A kid friendly brunch spot

Right under the Bikram yoga studio on Laurier is this bustling little place called La Boite Gourmande. This place is similar to it’s hot yoga neighbour in that it’s always full of people, without the 45 degrees of heat. La Boite Gourmade has always perplexed me. I keep passing by it and always wanted to go and check it out. This day, it just happened as we ended up wanting do something on Laurier street and I figured I could finally check this little spot out.
